Please avoid renting from Penske. The truck we had was very poorly maintained. We were told that everything was ready to go, but didn't realize until three days into our cross country move that the front tires were less that 40 psi out of a required 65. This cost us hundreds more dollars in gas. We were never able to check pressure on the rear tires because the placement of the nozzle deep in the rim and at an awkward angle, made it impossible to get the gauge in place. The alignment was also off at least 20%, causing me to have to hold the wheel in place to the left to avoid going over the shoulder. We tried calling them multiple times to get help with this and we're on hold so long each time that we gave up. One week before the move, I called to cancel the reservation because I felt a 16' truck would be too small and a 20' from another national company would better suite our needs. The agent I spoke with assured me that I was wrong in my judgement and the 16' would be fine. We ended up having to throw out several bookcases and other small furniture that wouldn't fit in order to make room for more expensive/important things. Not only did this cost us in money spent on furniture, we had to pay the movers more for the extra time spent rearranging what was in the truck. Penske misrepresents the status of its vehicles and its employees are dishonest just to save a cancellation.
