Friendly and nice folks. I crossed with my 3 year old and they did their job but were also friendly to my daughter who was scared by all the trucks in the other lane. I've heard horror stories and issues before, however, for my daughter's first road trip into Canada this was a pleasant experience. The ArriveCan app attached to our passports so we didn't even need the app open as well which was a pleasant surprise as we're already handing a folder full of passports, marriage certificate, and birth certificate. A serious situation handled by professionals in a professional manor with class. I could tell the agent was annoyed with the car in front of us (missing documents, no ArriveCan, entitlement, extremely loud and ignorant, and not following marked signs), but she did not let that affect our interaction, kudos to her.

Going into the states, had a border guard that appeared to dislike Canadians, or white people. This was my first time experiencing a border guard like him, but I remained as polite as I could be. This was an oddity, and not what I'm accustomed to at this crossing, all other agents have always been very professional and courteous.

First time going through here and probably the last. The agent was so rude, zero patience, doesn’t even give us a chance to explain and makes his own conclusions. We are all Canadians and unsure why the hostility with this 1 particular agent. These agents need to go through some customer service training along with everything else they do. Surprisingly the US side when entering was very nice and accommodating. Not a very Canadian experience coming back home. Smh

Good morning, we are a family of 5 people, 2 are Green card residents, and 2 are born in the USA, we can cross to Canada

TERRIBLE experience!!! My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year. He was trying to come to Canada through me as an extended family member during Covid. He had all the necessary paperwork and answered all the questions truthfully. However, the officer was unnecessarily aggressive and proceeded to call my boyfriend a liar, after having no evidence that he was. He tried to scare him by making threats about sending him to jail and deporting him. He simply wanted to enter Canada to see me but instead got denied that right and was treated as though he was a criminal and that he was intentionally hiding something. The officer continued to question the legitimacy of our relationship after my boyfriend upon his request, showed the officer all of our text messages and photos together... even his bank account! After this rigorous process, they still did not let him pass. Never in my life have I seen such inhumane people! Absolutely ridiculous!!!

I have never had any issues.

The agents tendering the NEXUS lane are very unfriendly and unnecessarily aggressive. I travel regularly through Windsor-Detroit Ambassador Bridge NEXUS lane, which now has a microphone that you can conveniently speak into, and have never had any such negative experience, delay or aggressive questioning like I have had at this border. I am a Canadian citizen, what is the reason for all the questioning - especially for a NEXUS trusted traveler? If you are returning to Canada, drive through Windsor-Detroit Ambassador Bridge instead. However if you are leaving Canada, avoid Ambassador Bridge - TSA agents are much more pleasant through Sarnia than through Windsor.

It was very empty hardly 10 people but still had to wait 3 hours. No one showed up to stamp our PR. There were only 2 officers at desk.

I have never been more disgusted by any place I've visited in my life than I was during two visits in the course of a month.(January 2016) I was visiting a friend in Ontario as a first time visitor to Canada (I'm a US citizen). To make it short, I was in the midst of moving houses here in the states so when I arrived in Canada I had a car full of my things. (Mostly clothes and other such innocent personal things).. I understand why this mightt look suspicious to them especially since I'm saying I am only staying a week but the treatment I received about the intention of my visit was completely inappropriate, even inhumane. I arrived late at night and these a**holes must have been bored out of their minds because they proceeded to keep me for 4 hours while they insisted upon (and I mean they demanded it or they were denying my entry) taking my cell phone and digging deeply into all of my personal conversations (text, Facebook messenger and all emails) and questioning EVERY God damn thing they felt was immoral or un-Canada (sorry Canada how about un Sarnia border patrol-like) which quite honestly was anything from "I see you mention drug use herw- are you bringing drugs into Canada? (This question was based on a meer mention of a friend's drug problem within a conversation I had.. never once mentioned that I did or did not use drugs but yet they proceeded to search my car up and down because of this) I was nervous as I have very bad social anxiety and all these questions made me feel uncomfortable and it showed. However, they insisted that my anxiety was probably due to drug use. I have becer been so flabbergasted! Aside from the accusations of being a junkie and a drug Lord, I was also asked to explain why I was moving houses yet had time to visit a friend in Canada at the last minute, I had to talk about my recent breakup in detail because it was honestly the reason I was moving, I had to tell private things about my friend who I was visiting in Canada, and all of this went on remember for 4 hours almost while I was the only one there and in the end they let me in with only a visitors pass, not an actual visa.. for 4 days and I was ordered to be back at 4bdays time otherwise I faced being taken in by the police and departed on their terms. I am not even a US criminal I had a clean record and no past like the person they seemed to think I was! This was absurd even.to do to someone who maybe did deserve some questions but nothing so in depth! I will never drive through this border entry again. I will fly or I was drive thru Detroit or I was swim over the lake instead I just will not deal with these heartless people ever again. I don't suggest anyone else does, either. Especially if you have so much as a bad driving record in the States, or anywhere probably.

As a commercial driver, crossing back into Canada through Sarnia is always welcoming. The agents have always been friendly and professional (save 1 person last year), and are very helpful explaining what needs doing if you hit a snag with your shipment(s). The fact that everything is onsite helps making this crossing smooth and painless. There is a nice driver waiting room here (Commercial side) and plenty of truck parking.
