ROYAL HAWAIIAN MOVERS INC

I called Alejandra Zapata at their Southern California location 11 times without a response! When I call the office in Hawaii I have always been able to speak to someone and they have been helpful saying they will also put messages into the Southern California location. At this point I am using a different moving company as I fear that I would have issues getting any help or updates on my move if I used them. They need to seriously reconsider who they use as a partner in Southern California.

This is some of the laziest, lowest quality and most unprofessional service I’ve ever received. The movers miss handled a lot of my stuff. My couch, shelving, multiple picture frames were all broken by them. They packed their trash (empty water bottles, cut up zip ties, used tape rolls, plastic wrappers etc..) in with our clothes and other items. Don’t ever pay these people to move your stuff unless your alright with it all showing up broken. The third picture is of the shelving. There was a screw that they stripped out. instead of finding another way to pack it, they just bent the whole bracket in half and wrapped it up.

The people doing the packing were very nice but unfortunately I think they were in a hurry, and they packed rooms out of order and left quite a few expensive things behind and packed items that were easy to replace. The gentleman supposed to be packing the kitchen, was his last day and was the one who left items behind. It's already a little too late to do anything as Royal Hawaiian won't take any blame or at least say sorry we cut corners. And of course blames the homeowner for catching it when they already sealed the crate. My neighbor who moved to Delaware had the same crew the week before and said the same thing. Except they used the words "Hid Items in closet that looped around under the stairs"but of course that was already after they left. I should of made a bigger fuss! Lesson learned. All I can do is let everyone know my story and to be cautious and maybe use another company?

I was excited to work with Royal Hawaiian as they seemed to have a pretty good reputation. My pack out survey was done virtually, which is understandable because of COVID, but of course is not as accurate as an in-person survey. With that being said, the pack out was severely underestimated. The movers showed up and right off the bat, had mentioned that they didn't have enough packing paper. The lead had told them to just use as little as possible. This was a huge red flag as I own a lot of fragile items and expected the utmost care be provided to wrap and pack these items. Long story, short, they ended up calling someone to bring them more paper. The second red flag was when the movers started moving my mattress out of my unit WITHOUT wrapping it. Before they took it out the door, I had stopped them to ask why they hadn't wrapped it, and their response was that it wouldn't fit out the door and they would wrap it once downstairs near the truck. This was not my first move from this same exact place, so I knew it could be done and told them so, but they still took it out of my unit to wrap it, gross! Third issue I had is that this time they ran out of padded wrap and wanted to wrap my expensive framed art with the paper wrap (which was way too small to wrap around). At this point I demanded they ask someone to bring more padded wrap. The whole ordeal was taking so long, two more movers had to show up (for a total of 6) and had to help them. ---Side note: These two movers had mentioned they came from packing up a unit with a similar volume of HHG, and it was just the two of them, they agreed these guys were taking a long time.-- Because of how long they were taking, the building management could not allow them to use the elevator past a certain time, and much of my stuff was hastily wrapped and packed. Damage to some of my things is inevitable at this point, but I'm hoping the irreplaceable items make it ok. If I were to rate only the movers, I'd give them a 0, 3 of the 4 guys seemed pretty clueless. I don't know if this is indicative of the company as a whole, as the surveyor/coordinator seemed very friendly and responded promptly.

Not only did the movers arrive early they were extremely courteous and efficient. They packed an moved all of my belongings from a 3 bedroom home in under 5 hours.

Wish I could give zero stars. The military had us use them to move back home after getting out and they lost over 26 of our boxes, our mattress, part of our couch, vacuum, surfboard, our child’s freaking crib, keepsakes that will never get back and so much more. Our TV stand was also broken. Worst moving experience we’ve ever had. How do you lose that much stuff?! I am so hurt and frustrated that half of our stuff is just gone. Please don’t use this company if you care about your house hold goods.

Just packed us out in half the time scheduled. Everyone was super respectful and hard charging. Special thanks to Tawni, Dylan, Jon, Ben, Kawai and Rod. If you get any one of these awesome folks you’re in good hands! Royal Hawaiian moved us in and out, they’re all we recommend to our fellow military members and beyond. Thank you again for making our move stress free!

First off with the stop order movement somehow the military assigned 2 different carriers and 2 different shipment1) was royal Hawaiian, the second was aloha international. Aloha international contacted us immediately came out and did our Packing survey...almost a week later royal hawaii called to do the same, which made us stop and try to figure out why we were getting contacted by someone else. We told them we did a survey already and needed to call our travel office to figure out who was the true company to use. They called again a few days later over and over and over again not stopping till I answered, he demanded we let them come out, I said no we are waiting on figuring out this mess and no need to waste their time if it turned out they did not have the contract....he proceeded to let out a string of expletives and hung up...I promptly let our travel office know that we would request that this company not be our carrier, because if their moving quality is anything like their customer service then I might as well sell everything because it would be the worst move ever! Luckily I don’t have to use this company.

We had an amazing pack out today. Guys we’re clean, on time, efficient, friendly and very very intentional in listening and taking good care of our belongings. I am honestly shocked at how efficient and good these guys were. I’ve had several military moves but this was by far the best!

If you are moving from the mainland- do not use this company. I moved from the mainland and expected good service since this company has a good Better Business Bureau Rating, so we paid more than other companies to not have to worry. When they packed our items - it was smooth but when we landed here - despite multiple conversations with our representative on the mainland side about no additional fees, they tried to charge us an addition 700 dollars to move out items off the boat the day before our scheduled move. When they did move us in - they dropped and broke many of my items (including a couch), ruined some property and refused and got irritated when asked to unpack - which was included in the price of the move. I am still - 3 months later working to get my damages fixed on the items that they broke. It is unfortunate since this move was made much more stressful than it needed to be.
