I've traveled all over the US and this is probably the best rest stop I've ever experienced! Lots of picnic areas, vending machines, clean and don't be in such a rush to miss out on the amazing view of the ocean. It's kinda tucked away behind a hill so if you're not paying attention you may miss it. There's also a decent view of the hills on the other side of the freeway. It does stay pretty busy and it's always packed at night. I absolutely love this place!

This is a really cool rest area. The restrooms are super clean and there are vending machines to grab a quick snack or drink. If you're parking here to spend the night, be advised, it gets crowded most every night in the summer.

Well i could share my personal experience concerning the rest stop however ill just say its a place traveler stop to move around a bit out of their cars. Get drinks snacks etc. Explore the signs telling about their current location and how other things up and down the coast of California came to b known. Some stay just to watch the beautiful sunsets with the ocean as a back drop. Military vessels can be seen from that vantage point also.And if their journey is futher by night fall they can rest a few hours b4 continuing to where they r headed.There r two Aliso creek rest stop. One North bound and one South bound.

It's Lis for I-5 Southbound Aliso Creek Rest Area
Beautiful views, even at night. Pulled over to rest for a bit on the drive from Huntington Beach back to San Diego. The snacks are plentiful. Restrooms nice. And there's plenty of benches to sit and have a picnic while taking in the scenery.
