An absolutely amazing experience that should be required of all Americans. Being a bit of a history buff, I was aware of the basic facts about the Battle of Gettysburg but didn't quite ever grasp the gravity and scale of what took place. The Visitor Center and Museum brings the magnitude of what went down on those 3 days to life. A great collection of detailed info and artifacts from the events leading up to the war and the battle through the aftermath and building of the park. Definitely the place to start your visit to the park and it really is a can't miss experience.

We have been to the park to see some of the scenery into the past, but our last visit we spent milling around the visitor center and store. This is an exceptional shop. They have the best books on Gettysburg and other historical events in the founding of our country. Wonderful shirts and sweatshirts, and all sorts of gift items. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The store is well laid out and clean. All around the store are exhibits which are just simply fascinating. Don’t miss stopping at the visitor center when you visit the fields and the town.

Always worth a visit. This is not something you can see and completely take in with one visit. However, even if you can only fit in a quick look, pick out a couple of highlights such as Little Round Top or the site of the Gettysburg Address or the Eternal Light Peace Memorial or the High Water Mark. And then make plans to come back again and again to see it all. It is awe inspiring to learn of the sacrifices made by so many for the preservation of our union and for the liberty of all Americans.

Check hours before coming. Didn’t realize the museum was closed on Tuesdays. Still so much to see here. Plan your time wisely. Auto tour is about 3 hours. Beautiful area. Such a historic spot in our American history. Will come back to see the rest

I LOVE GETTYSBURG!!! I’ve been coming every year to Gettysburg since 2004. I absolutely love it. I love the ghost tours so many strange experience I’ve had there. I love doing the history tour guides as well there is so much to learn when going there in so little time. The foods there is unbelievable to you got Tommy’s pizza, Gettysburg eddies tavern , and Farnsworth house so many great places to eat. I also love going to the visitor center and and gift shops all around town you can buy any kind of Gettysburg souvenir in any of them shops. Gettysburg is so full of mysteries from ghost sightings to unknown facts about the battle of Gettysburg. This is definitely a place I recommend for anyone who wants a different experience that love history, ghost sitings, or just the scenery.

What an amazing experience. There is a calmness and spirit of tranquility that comes over one as you look out among the fields here. It's free to walk the grounds, but the museum is well worth seeing. Pack your patience, as the town of Gettysburg can get busy and cramped. I'm always amazed to see history first-hand. Despite our stained past, we can honor the memory of those who lost their lives here.

This is an amazing place to experience. We we so fortunate to have a very knowledgeable and very experienced guide who provided wonderful information and took us to locations of significant events in the battle. The Visitor center is beautiful with a wonderful gift shop. The cyclorama was a unique experience that perfectly capped our day at the battlefield.

One of the greatest national battlefield parks in the United States, hands down. You can spend 3 days looking at certain areas of the park and not see everything. This Hallowed Ground is a must-see for any Civil War or history enthusiast. It's really amazing when the sun sets, as well. Come visit this battlefield and you'll really enjoy everything it has to offer. Highly recommended.

Very professional. Very informative. Brings the battle and war to life. Makes you question the sacrifice of so many young men and the decisions of older ones. Still powerful story even after 157 years

I just visited the Gettysburg National Military Park. I was a great way to reconnect to our Nation's history and story. You can use your car to tour the battlefield. The indoor museum is equally interesting. You will have to plan on going a couple of days to fully go through the park and museum. If you just want a basic your, allow 3-4 hours.
