Alcock Lake for Pine Grove Rest Area
Always dirty, usually full of bugs (ants, beetles, mosquitoes, you name it). Manitoba should be embarrassed... this is about 100 km west of the rest stop at the Ontario border which is large..well laid out and clean. I'd avoid pine grove if you can make it to the rest stop at the Ontario border (south side of the highway about 2 km east of the weigh station.

Nice place to stop enroute to Winnipeg. Washrooms are clean and lots of parking available. Handicap parking right in front and the entrances are easy to access. Garbage bin was full and it's a big one, over 6 feet deep! Also loads of room for transport trucks to pull off.

This is a decent highway rest area. Washrooms are even heated in the winter. Just not the cleanest option you will find on your journey.

Very small rest stop area. The washroom facilities are definitely cleaner than those at the large Ontario Rest Plaza at the Manitoba/Ontario border.

A convenient stop. Manitoba has few highway rest areas, so I guess this one is decent. However it does not really compare to the well-equipped US interstate rest areas. The historical information on the area is nice.

I drive truck through Canada and stop here before getting into the busy traffic in Winnipeg. I loved coming here before. Now for the last month it's been very dirty and not maintained! The toilets we're were over flowing today !! It smelt horrible. If you used one toilet , the other would start to over flow again like there is back pressure. I tried to find a number to contact to report this but I cant find any contact info online and it's not on the doors!! I'm a lady btw. So I also understand Steves comment ! This is very upsetting for being out on the road and this is how our facility gets kept... Very upset! 😓

We stop here this year on our way from Winnipeg to Kenora on a Friday evening around 7 pm. The first part of the season it was great and very clean. The last two weeks the washrooms have been very dirty, especially the ladies. Tonight my wife would not even use it and another lady chose to pee behind a tree while my wife kept watch for her. The washrooms need some regular attention especially during busy time ms and with the Covid pandemic.
