It was all right, and the employee I spoke with was fantastic, but one thing that was frustrating was that there was no continental breakfast, despite being promised that in our reservation. When picking between different hotels in the area, the continental breakfast was one of the central factors in our choice of this hotel. In our booking, confirmation emails, etc., it said we would get free breakfast. This was especially highlighted in our reservation emails with all the details of our stay. Then when we got there, they had no breakfast due to COVID; while this is perfectly understandable, this stay happened over a year and a half into the pandemic. That is more than enough time to update the reservation emails/websites/etc. to reflect the current situation. Make sure the promotional materials only promise what you can deliver and nothing more. Also, when I asked the hotel employee about it, she recommended that I call for room service, and said they would "probably" give me a discount since I'm staying at the hotel. I don't think this solution is good enough given they heavily advertise a free breakfast.

We're at the Inn now (Nov 13, 2021) and I can say that my room with 2 queen sized beds was clean and nicely decorated. However, if you expect breakfast as they advertise, forget about it, although you still pay full price. Also, if you expect a heated pool, forget about that too. The pool is so cold that my boy, who typically doesn't mind a cold pool, was actually shivering to the point where his teeth chatter. Wished they had a heated pool. As for the shower in our room, it had no pressure at all. This is a definitely a 2 or 3 out of 5 star Inn.

I want to thank all of you for making it possible for my family to have a decent place(s) to be together (several times) this summer, when otherwise we could not have. A big difference between here & other places, is that we felt appreciated / valued as customers & I hope you felt the same from us in return. (Also, you have the best swimming pool we've seen yet! Unusual to find a NINE footer!!) So yeah, this place pretty much rocks, it has become my favorite place when we need one & Andy, ANDRE & EMILY are just GOLDEN in our book! Thank you⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍❤ Go happy, GO HO JO; or just GO!

We chose Howard Johnson primarily for it's proximity to our activities, secondarily for cost, and with confidence in our expectation for cleanliness and adequate ammenities. The El Cajon Blvd Howard Johnson personnel and facility met all of those expectations. Thank you :)

This motel was pretty good for the price. The parking was good and the staff was super. The location is spot on with walking distance to grab a bite to eat. The outside could use a little updating but not enough to give a bad review. Again Staff and management at the time I visited was A++ pool was good as well

Overall price was good for what you get, the staff was kind and were quick to accommodate. It looks better inside the rooms vs outside. Multiple restaurants in walking distance. Bed was soft and comfortable actually. The only thing I didn’t like is the $150 hold for damages. I understand policy but some of us live dollar to dollar.
